Tim Burton is directing (or I suppose directed, as the film is now in post production) a live action remake of Alice is Wonderland. Cast highlights include:
Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter Alan Rickman as The Caterpillar Crispin Glover as The Knave of Hearts Stephen Fry as The Cheshire Cat Christopher Lee as The Jabberwock Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen I am hesitantly hopeful. 22nd June 200919th June 2009

Here are my plans for Sled Island. Cuz I'm very important, and you all need to know where I'll be and why.
Tuesday: Work Wednesday: Work Thursday: Work, then wander over to the Soda and see if DJ Jinx still needs anyone to cover the door for her Friday: The Distillery. Show starts at 8:00 featuring The Monsters of Schlock sideshow, Warbird, Meggido, Better off Dead, Rebel Spell, and Book of Black Earth Saturday: Catch Sabertooth (and maybe the other bands) at the afternoon AA show at the Palomino. Then back to the Distillery for Colin Decker Freefall, Passenger Action, Whitey Houston, Knucklehead, and The Bronx. Sunday: Work So ya. If you need somewhere to go on any of the nights that I'm out and about, you should come along. I'm really quite amusing when I'm stupid-drunk. 15th June 2009
: I wrote a song
This is the first song of my new band/project. If I stick to my vague schedule there will be an album (DIY apartment recording for the win) before the end of the year. In my mind the song lasts about 50 seconds or so. Including a guitar solo. The band is called (at least for the moment) 'Part of the Problem'. (NOTE I was rather wasted when I wrote this. There may be some editing involved upon waking up and realizing I posted this.) (Title)The Justice you get is equal to the amount of justice you can afford(/Title) Equality is a myth Nothing but lies Told to the young From those in charge All created equal All free to live their lives As long as they Know their places Know your rights For all the good they do Revoked as easily as they are granted Born into bondage Slaves sense before birth There is no hope Only the end 9th June 2009

: My barfday plans
So here's the plan bitches. The minute I get off work on Friday the 13th (around 11:30pm I'd guess) it's party time. Come down to the Drum that night and get absurdly drunk with me. The following day (Feb 14th for those with short attention spans. Also Valentine's day! Yay, chocolate and sex!) will include drinking at a yet to be decided location (likely the Drum again. Possibly a park or by the river.) before a midnight viewing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Plaza in Kensington. Bring props! Dress up! Sneak booze into the theater! Do the time warp and possibly fall off stage! Then more drinking. Sunday (the 15th. See how that works?) is to be the day of altered states of mind. Come get strange in the brain with me! BYOD. Location will depend on weather. Contact me for location conformation closer to or on the day. It'll be like a vision quest, but with less spirit guides and more laughing till we cry at shit we probably won't remember a half hour later. The actual day of my birth is Monday the 16th. Probably more drinking. Likely much less energetic. So. Come and help me celebrate my birth by taking a few years off my life. 8th February 2009

My grandfather died. I found out about 20 hours ago...
I caught myself reading all the email forwards he'd sent me that I usually just skipped over. I kept meaning to call these last few weeks. I knew he was sick, but I put it off anyway. I could just call him tomorrow, or next week, or some other time. Now he's gone. No tomorrow, no next week, and no time left. I could never find the time to go and visit or even to simply pick up the phone, but with almost no effort I made time to carry his casket. Fuck. I wish I hadn't taken him for granted. Goodbye Poppa. 24th January 200922nd January 20098th January 200922nd December 2008 |
